As I See It

David S. Calef is an accomplished producer, director, videographer and editor.  David began in 1960 as a cameraman in his high school biology class that was telecast to other classrooms.  Calef started Vanguard Productions in high school to do independent production of audio, video productions for others. That company is now www.NewsVideoTeam.com. While in college, he joined the staff of WGBH-TV in Boston.  He was offered a position at WBZ-TV in Boston by a director at the station when he graduated, but he returned home to join WKNE in Keene and WKVT in Brattleboro, VT. He became chief engineer, news director and director of broadcast operations. During that time he was on the board of Brattleboro Community TV and served as a volunteer.   Calef was hired by a consortium of WKVT, WTSA and the Brattleboro Reformer to produce several live election return shows on Brattleboro Community TV.

Calef’s work has appeared on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, PBS, Associated Press, Vermont Public Television, WBZ-TV, WHDH-TV, WMUR-TV, Brattleboro Community TV, Keene’s CheshireTV and numerous other outlets.  Over the years he has also done work for radio on CBS, NPR, WKVT, WTSA, WKNE, WKBK, WBZ, WEEI, WNAC, WJOY, WHAI, and many others.
